Entry 7- Kitting out
Yup, that’s me under there, somewhere, lost, in all the fur and warmth. If there were any skeptics worried that I was going to get cold, I assure you, I am more likely to get eaten by a Polar Bear in Antarctica before I get cold. The weather should be ‘warm’ at -10 Celsius at its worst. The gear I received today could keep me warm in -50 Celsius or more, so don’t worry. In my flat, I can’t wear my Extreme Cold Weather (ECW) gear for more than 60 seconds for fear of head exhaustion. As for the fleece pants and jacket, those are quite comfy right now. We also were lucky enough to be here for the first season of all the new gear! We are going to look so snazzy in all our orange and black. For once in Antarctic history, McTown( McMurdo) will be jealous of the Kiwi gear.
That’s my name. On a bag. Going to Antarctica. I’m going to Antarctica. I’m going to Antarctica? I’M GOING TO ANTARCTICA!!!!!! wooo hooo 3 more days! Over the past 101 days as I’ve been making my massive countdown there have been moments where it almost sinks in that I’m going to the Ice. I had one or two or ten of those today alone.
