Entry 4 and 1/4 - Cass Field Station
Sarah had her first class field trip….awwww. Wednesday we went to Cass in Arthur’s Pass. It is a field station owned by the University of Canterbury for student activities. We were lucky enough to have it for a couple days and fully enjoyed everything the mountains had to offer. We used this time to set up Polar tents, check out our sleeping gear, practice using primus stoves, and learn more about our experiements and the equipement involved. It was also a great time for team bonding while working and playing together. Come Friday afternoon we were all filled with funny stories, full bellies and ready for the Ice.

hike to BaileyWe took a break on Friday morning and went for a hike by Arthur's Pass up to Bailey's spur. It was a b-e-a-utiful day and we all enjoyed the fresh air and exercise. The food was also wonderful, as everything tastes better after you've carried it up hill for 2 hours and its eaten in a sunny field. lunch at the most popular tourist destination for hours and hours and hours no hike is complete with out a mug shot in my gangsta hat and tye dye
